My view at night from the mountains, looking up at the sparkling sky and the twinkling towns, is one of my hopeful dreams! The thought of going out in the eerie stillness of the night is appealing to me. I have a positive outlook on discovering nature’s profound secrets. 

Taking a night stroll is the most fantastic way to experience nature under the stars. One such trek, the Skandagiri Trek, is hailed as the most incredible heaven for night hikers. The excitement of walking at night and the splendor of an early sunrise drew me to the journey. It's a top trekking destination 62 km away from the vibrant city of Bangalore. I reached the top of Skandagiri mountain on this perfect one-day excursion.

About Skandagiri Trekking

Skandagiri Hill is approximately 62 km away from the city of Bangalore. This wonderful hill has an altitude of 1450 m. The Skandagiri trekking path consists of an 8 km uphill and downhill (up and down). The trekking track is moderate; however, there are visible markers along the way. The trip has a few rough areas, tight routes, and sharp climbs. The ground on the trekking path is loose in some places, so cautious maneuvering is required. The trek offered me a perfect weekend escape amidst the historic Skandagiri hills.

How to Reach Skandagiri Trek Bangalore?

There are various ways through which you can reach the Skandagiri trek. Here are some of my suggestions:

·         By Road

A superb network of public and private buses connects Bangalore to all of India's main cities. The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation connects the city to surrounding areas. It is a convenient means of transport that will help you traverse through the Skandagiri sunrise trek.

·         By Air

The distance between the Bangalore International Airport (BLR) and the city center is 40 km. You can go to the city via bus or taxi from the airport. I preferred this means of transport since it helped me reach the Skandagiri trek quickly!

·         By Train

The railway stations that best cater to those taking trains to Bangalore are Yeswantpur Junction (YPR) and Bengaluru City Railway Station (SBC). Taking a bus or a cab to these stations is convenient. What is the Ideal Time to Visit Skandagiri Sunrise Trek?

You can go on this trek any time of the year. I went to the Skandagiri sunrise trek two times. Nonetheless, October to February, i.e., the autumn and winter seasons, respectively, are the ideal times. When I went there in February, the hills had an enchanting look, and the surrounding area was rich in greenery.

The Skandagiri trek is also possible to take in the summer. I took this trek during the nighttime to give me a huge respite from the afternoon heat. 

Avoid trekking in the rainy season since the trek is extremely muddy and treacherous.

Itinerary of Skandagiri Trek

I planned my Skandagiri trek Bangalore using the following itinerary:

·         Day 1 (Pickup and Overnight Journey)

When the bus arrived at the scheduled pickup locations on time, I boarded it and spent the night travelling from Bangalore, a busy metropolis, to Skandagiri, a lovely place. The trip began in the late hours of the night. Therefore, I ate before getting on the bus. But if you cannot eat on time, you can carry a packed meal.

·         Day 2 (02:00 AM to 11 AM)

It only took a few hours for me after midnight to arrive at the Base of the Hill following a nighttime ride. I explored the campsite under the canvas of twinkling stars in the night sky. I met the team members and learned about all the activities at a briefing with the team leader. After understanding the instructions, I gathered my equipment and conquered the Skandagiri trek Bangalore. I felt my fatigue dissipate as I saw the magical morning drawing near. I explored the treasures and gazed at the beauty of the Skandagiri trek.

Now, it was time to go down the Skandagiri hill. I boarded the bus after reaching the base, and my next stop was Bhoga Nandeeshwara Temple, where I sought blessings from Lord Shiva. I took a short break to dress up and savour the genuine flavours during my journey. After picking up my luggage, I returned home with special travel memories.

Ultimately, it was a memorable trek to Skandagiri with challenges and rewards. This trek left a lasting impression on me, and I will forever be grateful to Universal Adventure for such a fantastic travel experience. Hurry up, guys, and do your Skandagiri booking for a memorable experience!
